SEEK A-List Party Patroller - FAQ

How do you decide which of the 20 shortlisted applicants will become the SEEK A-List Party Patroller at the 2010 ARIA Awards?
The winner will be determined based on a combined final score: 50% public vote and 50% judges score.
How do I vote for my favourite applicant?
Use the "CLICK HERE TO VOTE" button under the applicant's picture. After you have voted, the button will become inactive and the text will change to "VOTE RECEIVED". Other applicants will be be marked as "ALREADY VOTED" as there is only one vote allowed per person.
How do I win the ARIA Award tickets?
When you use the "CLICK HERE TO VOTE" button it will ask you to connect via Facebook. When you do this, your vote will be registered and a new window will open confirming your vote has been received with a text box to fill in your entry in 25 words or less to win the ARIA Award tickets. You must fill in this form, click the checkbox to confirm you are over 18 and a resident of Australia or New Zealand and click the checkbox confirming you agree to the terms and conditions. Your entry will then be registered and if the applicant you voted for wins, your entry will be judged and you could win the tickets to the ARIA Awards.
Can I vote if I'm under 18 or live outside of Australia or New Zealand?
Yes you can vote as long as you are connected to Facebook but you can't enter to win the tickets to the ARIAs.
Are Facebook "Likes" and "Comments" and link "Shares" counted as votes for the shortlist?
No, the only way to vote for your favourite applicant is to use the "CLICK HERE TO VOTE" button under the applicant's picture.
What date are the ARIA Awards on?
The awards are in Sydney on Sunday 7th November.
If I am shortlisted for the second round, what happens next?
You will be advised on the 15th or 16th October by email, and will need to make and upload a video demonstrating your interview techniques. Deadlines will be tight so start preparing now.
If I win and am the A-List Party Patroller, what dates will I need to be available?
You will need to go to the Nova station in your closest capital city for several hours during the week starting Monday 1st November. You will then go to Sydney for the ARIA Awards on Sunday 7th November and to Melbourne to report on the event at Nova on Monday 8th November.
Who can enter?
Australian and New Zealand residents aged over 18.
What are the prizes?
Main Prize: One person will win the chance to be the SEEK A-List Party Patroller, attending the ARIA Awards and reporting on the event on Nova.
Secondary Prize: Another person who votes for the winning entry will win two tickets to the ARIA Awards.
The ARIA Awards are in Sydney - what if I live in another city?
Flights from your nearest capital city and accommodation are included in both prizes.
Is this a real job?
Yes. The job is a short term contract that lasts for a couple of days, to work on SEEK's behalf at the ARIAs and produce a media report on the ARIAs event. The role includes training and attending the event. The prize for the SEEK A-List Party Patroller includes a $1000 paycheck.
I tried to enter / vote but the website is asking me to connect via Facebook. Do I have to?
Yes. All entries and voting is via Facebook. However you can browse the site without a Facebook account.
How long do I have to enter?
Entries are open from Sept 27 - October 15. Voting for the finalists is from October 15 - October 29.
I can't attend the ARIAs. Can I have an alternative prize?
No. As per the terms and conditions on the site, the prize is awarded based on strict timing availability. If you can't meet the time criteria, you will forfeit the prize.
Can I apply to be the A-List Party Patroller and also enter to win tickets to go to the ARIAs?
Yes you can do both, however if you were the chosen A-List Party Patroller and won the tickets to the ARIAs, you would need to forfeit one or the other, as the prizes are not transferrable. If you applied for the role and were not the chosen A-List Party Patroller, you can win the tickets and attend the ARIAs.
